Pastel Painting 101

PASTEL PAINTING 101

Pastel is one of the purest, most direct, and easiest painting mediums to use. When used well, it creates rich, luminous paintings that can outlast oils, acrylics, and many other painting materials.

This one-day workshop is perfect for complete beginners, as well as anyone with some experience who wants to build confidence and improve their pastel painting skills.

In this relaxed and informative class, you'll learn all about soft pastels and different paper surfaces available, and how each one creates unique effects. We'll explore materials, mark making, layering, and underpainting through plenty of hands-on exercises. You'll also complete a series of small still life and landscape paintings

Please bring your own pastel materials, or you're welcome to use mine for an additional fee.
